Geared to National Geography Standards, this
collection of 20 exercises takes students on a journey to Web sites devoted to some of
America's most important ecological centers. Beginning with four activities that focus on
themes relevant to all national parks (public lands, history of the national park system,
endangered species, park management), the book then includes exercises that center around
individual parks (including Yellowstone, the Everglades, the Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree,
Yosemite, and Hawaii's volcanoes) and cover topics ranging from physical geography and
geology to native cultures and the environment. Teacher information pages for each
exercise list objectives, grade level, and a suggested extension activity. |
